Wagon painter – Juliet King

Juliet King – Wagon Painter

Having learnt the skill of traditional wagon painting during a 4 year apprenticeship,  Juliet King continues today to build on her practice.  Commissions can be undertaken with initial discussion centred around clients preferences including design, colour scheme, whether gold leaf is used and if interior wagon painting is required.   With multiple coats of varnish, the wagon painting should last decades and if kept outside should be given an extra coat of varnish every couple of years.

It takes many hours to achieve the quality of wagon painting with accomplished and well practiced brush work.  The wagon above took 12 months from preparation at the start to conclusion with the varnish.
