Juliet King – Wagon Painter

Juliet King has been a practicing wagon painter for 20 years.  Commissions are undertaken from a full wagon paint including upper, dray, interior and accessories to just certain areas of the wagon eg steps, shafts, panbox etc.   

Process

  • Preparation and flat painting with undercoat and top coats.

  • Chalking up design onto wagon.

  • Carvings added (if using).

  • Wagon painting.

  • Gilding.

  • Varnish.

Materials

  • Exterior primer and topcoat paint.

  • Professional signwriters enamel paints.

  • Gilding materials.

  • UV varnish.
